What is Second Pedro? / O que é As aventuras do Segundo Pedro?
The story begins in 1871, while Dom Pedro II prepares for his first trip abroad.
We meet Lis, a 10-year-old girl, the daughter of a French immigrant and an afro-american freed slave, and an inseparable friend of hers, Martin, who sells newspapers to help with the family’s bills, is always aware of the main world events, as he is always reading the newspapers he hasn’t sold yet.
They starts the adventure hunting down a Saci (a mythological creature) who defeat the two children and trapping them in their own net. And so, in an unusual way, they meet the Brazilian Emperor Dom Pedro II in person, who was at the port checking the loading of his boat and final preparations for his first trip abroad.
Thus, the frustrated hunt ends, making them win the adventure of their lives when they are invited
by D. Pedro II to accompany them on their travels in search of knowledge while saving the relics
of humanity from being looted by the Queen’s Victoria mercenaries. Who wants to put all world treasures in her museum
A história se inicia em 1871, enquanto Dom Pedro II se prepara para sua primeira viagem ao exterior.
Conhecemos Lis, uma menina de 11 anos, filha de uma imigrante francesa e de um afro-brasileiro exescravizado. E seu amigo inseparável, Martin, (12 anos) que vende jornais para ajudar nas contas da família, está sempre
ligado nos acontecimentos do mundo, já que está sempre lendo os jornais que ainda não vendeu.
Eles iniciam a aventura perseguindo um Saci que consegue prende-los numa rede, fazendo eles serem confundidos com carga e arremessadas para o barco do imperador Dom Pedro II em pessoa, que estava no porto conferindo os últimos preparativos antes da viagem.
Assim, a frustrada caçada acaba, fazendo com que eles ganhem a aventura de suas vidas, ao serem
convidados por D. Pedro II para os acompanharem em suas viagens em busca de conhecimento, enquanto salvam as relíquias da humanidade de serem saqueadas pelos mercenários da Rainha Victória, que quer colocá-las em seu museu
